OTHER ACTIVITIES IN SHERIFF HUTTON 

Art Group
Village Hall A local group of amateur artists meeting from September to April with an annual EASTER ART EXHIBITION giving a chance to show and sell work. Membership limited to 50.


Field Naturalists Group
See Village News for dates Informal gatherings include field trips sometimes with guide. Information on flora and fauna discovered is then recorded. Winter months guest speakers. Non members welcome.


Gardening Club
Village Hall, 3rd Wed 7.30pm Monthly talks, demonstrations and visits to local gardens. A day trip and an overnight trip to gardens further afield. Village show and plant sale. All welcome.


Neighbourhood Watch
To co-operate with the local neighbourhood policing team to reduce crime and the opportunities for crime in the area.


Old Glebe Conservation
3.25 acres of traditional meadowland surrounding the grassy mounds of the early castle. Area suitable for study of flora and fauna. Always open to the general public.


Over 60s Luncheon Club
Village Hall, Tue 12.30pm Meetings only in winter months from first week in October until last week in April provides a social meeting with lunch for up to 20 village residents.


Spinning and Crafts
Village Hall, Sat 10.30am-4.30pm once a month An informal group, meeting once a months to spin and encourage each other in crafts such as knitting, crochet, weaving, rugmaking, beadwork etc.


Village Choir
10 Warwick Close, Wed 7.30-9pm Autumn-Spring Informal singing in parts, learning pieces in many styles.


Sheriff Hutton Charity
Meets three times a year. Dates of meetings are notified in the Village news. The trustees apply the income of the Charities in relieving either generally or individually persons resident in the Parishes of Sheriff Hutton, Lilling, Stittenham and Cornborough, who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress, by making grants of money or providing for items, services or facilities calculated to assist in reducing hardship or distress. The Charities also give assistance within broad terms, particularly students with the purchase of books necessary to their study, and to apprentices to assist with tools and equipment required for their training.


Ladies Group
Village Hall, 2nd Wed 7.30pm Meet monthly, enjoying varied speakers, outings and friendship. Non members welcome at some meetings - a small charge is made.
