The Jumblies are a very successful group of people who put the fun into fundraising. They organize eight jumble sales and one second hand book sale each year and work alongside many support groups to raise money for local organizations, local and national charities. |
They also hold fund raising coffee mornings and take part in the entertainment at the United Churches Annual New Year Party. The Macmillan and Marie Curie Nurses and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance are supported by the Jumblies as well as many other organizations looking after physically disabled adults and children.
The sales are held in the Village Hall from 2pm to 4pm and need to be seen to be believed. Since the group started way back in 1986 they have raised over £150,000.
